Welcome to third grade! This is my twenty-first year teaching and I am looking forward to working together with you to help your child have a successful third grade year. I am excited to share my 20+ years of teaching experience with the students of Brown’s Chapel Elementary. I received my Bachelor’s degree and Teaching Credential from California State University, San Marcos, and began teaching a bilingual kindergarten class in 1993. I earned my Master’s degree in Education from Belmont University in 2000, and have taught kindergarten, third, and fourth grade. While teaching in Metro Nashville Public Schools, I served as the Hands-On Science facilitator, facilitated Family Math workshops, and was honored to have been named Teacher of the Year in 1999 and 2004 at Rosebank Elementary. I have also taught 5-10 year old karate classes, Sunday School, and VBS at my church.

My husband and I have been married for twenty-one years, and we enjoy hiking, roller coasters, reading, and supporting the baseball and football teams that he coaches (Go UNA BEARS!). I also enjoy training in the martial arts, running (I completed my first 5K last summer!), and playing with my pug, Levi, and my birds, Buddy and Sammy.  I look forward to getting to know your child and helping them reach their potential.
